I bought a home in a flood zone 10 years ago and was told the premiums were going to be 10 times more than they should have been — $3,000 instead of $300. I almost had to walk away from the purchase!

Lucky for me, I have a master’s in flood mitigation and years of experience in the insurance world — but not everyone is this lucky.

So I made it my business to ensure that no property owner goes without the coverage they need.
